1/4 oz or smallest Walmart sales.

Just retrieve slow, fast , or a mixture of both. I don't think they really care.

One tip, I have always used a ultralight 4.5 ft rod. The reel broke after 15 years of use and I had to use a 9.5 crappie rod while on water. There was a big difference in landing rate with that longer, flimsier rod. I'm talking a 60 to a 90% land rate. I believe the longer rod allows more give when they go on their short runs. It appears there are some soft spots in third mouths that were pulling out with the shorter rod.

Thanks!!!! I bought some 1/4 oz from Walmart, changed from a treble to a single #2 hook, can't wait to try 'em out.

For my area, be at your fishing area about 1 HR before dark. Watch for them feeding at the surface. Also the Ospreys will usually show up right before they do.

    Catch them all!
