    Default More Guntersville Cranking Report

I had a better day today. Caught 12 with 10 of them making it home. Yes, I had 2 throwbacks (both about 9 inches), caught on Bandit 300's. Black was the best color for me with Pink coming in second.
I bought new batteries and it made a world of difference. I was limited to about 2 hours at 1.7-1.9. I was still trolling strong after 4 hours even with today's wind. I got 2 Energizer 29 series that are rated at 225 reserve minutes for $95 each at SAMs club. I hate advertising, but it was by far the best deal that I found.

Nice report. I have never trolled crankbaits before. How far back were the lures and about how deep do you think they were running?

Nice fish good report . Swivel 3' in front of the bait ? Hadn't ever noticed that before unless running a weight ? I do use a snap swivel at the bait. Have I been missing out on something?

I run a good ball bearing swivel about the same distance up the line with a snap swivel at the bait. I have hooked a small leaf or object that would cause the crank to swing in looping circles and twist the line. The inline swivel is able to help cut down on twist better than the snap since it is several feet above the bait. At least that is what I use it for. Last Friday's trip has given me the fever to go back. All batteries are hot this time.

I'm up. Boat is ready to go. 30 minutes and I should be on the way to Guntersville to see if the fish are cooperating.
