Yep 380 killed Harold Ray Presley, sheriff, Lee County.. I really like the simplicity of the S&W air weight hammerless. No slides or safeties to fool with, light weight, and safe to carry

Winchester Ranger T's or Federal HST's are excellent defens rounds. They are both law enforcement rounds but not illegal for citizens to carry or buy. The company's have over runs so you can find them around mainly on line or at gun shows. They are expensive so you will want to practice with something else! Lol! The Ranger T is the same thing as the Whinchester Black Talons that production was stopped on a few years ago because they make such a brutal wound channel and some didn't think the name was politically correct. They just dropped the black coating and changed the name. Ranger T (which stands for talon) and HST's both make very devasting wound channels. I have both for my 380's, 9's, 40's and 45's. I know at one time the Ranger T was the only round that would withstand all of the requirements set forth FBI for their agents to carry, auto glass, metal and gelatin penetration requirements. This may have changed now I'm not sure.
A 380 with these rounds or the Hornady round that G mentioned are great for carry. I have a Glock 42 and a Sig P238 in 380 and both are very easy to concel you can just stick these in your pants pockets. They are so light and easy to carry I forget that they are even on me. I also like my Glock 43 and Springfield EMP 9 in 9mm just not as light and simple to concel. Lots of light cheap pistols just make sure you can shoot with them. I started out with some of them but had trouble shooting them accurately.
Good Luck with your choice!

I agree with one exception...practice with the round you will carry...all rounds do not feed well in all guns...an example would be cor-bons not functioning n my Ruger, while they work well in my Walther, and Kel-Tec...I would suggest that you shoot at least 50 of your carry rounds before you make the final decision on what round to carry. Expensive..yes...What value do you put on your life?

I totally agree! I make sure they function and yes I did have a problem with the +P Ranger T's in a 9mm that I no longer have. They would hang when trying to cycle between shots basically had a single shot. I just don't use them for every day practice. To expensive and hard to get.
All this is well and good, but I wouldn't be saying on here what you carry, and what you have in your truck.....Be Safe.....Just Saying
