Hey MMT,
Best advice on keeping your catch fresh.IMO Article is by LSU fisheries biologist Jerald Horst.

Finally a scientific answer. We all have our theories of what works best so it's good to hear it from someone who's done the research. Thanks for pointing us in that direction JR. Now to catch enough fish so that some of them make it to the freezer.

Great article to help us move closer to perfection. Like imitating the lives of the saints (not NFL).
Just as a nit pick the article is by Todd Masson and he quotes Jerald Horst who I knew back in the day and is a great person.
I'm going to challenge myself to take better care of my catch all though I've not eaten any bad fillets yet. More ice for sure.

I have a refrig. in my shop. I put my catch in a plastic container with a lid and leave in the refrig. for a day or 2 , until I'm ready to clean them. No ice needed. Been doing this for 20 plus years. I find them easier to filet, because they are firmer when cold and dry. "D"
Well it's always better to be half right than half wrong. : )
