Old and set in my ways... Stren hivis gold, 10# , 1/0 gold eagle claw and a minnow. It's worked for a long time, no sense changing now.

Hi.
6 pd Stren Gold set up in a drop shot or Kentucky rig. I want some give if I get a rod hung up and it's at its bent almost to its limit. Nine times out of ten it's the little weight at the bottom that I've tied loosely that is hung. Pull it loose with my hand and put a new one on. Takes about 25 secs.
Be safe all.

Hello : I always use a 30 lb. braid with a swivel and attach rigs to the swivel. In Iowa you can only use up to 3 rods per person. Easy to watch all three for snags and pull them out easily. Have a great season. O - R

You can use drop shot weights ... Drop shot weights will pull off if hung (they're designed that way).
A single overhand knot (granny knot) will easily break on light mono (or pull loose), if the sinker gets hung. And you can use all forms of slip sinkers or pinch-on sinkers.
The rigs are simply one or two hook rigs with the weight at the end of the line (below the hooks).
