Thread: Need Info

I learned of the homebrew transmission fluid and acetone years ago. Buying old Penn and Ocean City reels to rebuild for catfishing. Some of the screw heads would stripe out if they weren't soaked for a while. After a 24 hour soaking they were removed without damage.
Nail polish remover with acetone has water in it and it's not very good. I've tried it. Used ATF is as good if it's not to dark or burnt.
