It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

JR, they do things COMPLETELY DIFFERENT up there! The first time me and Deacon went up there we freaked out with all of the boats staying on plane as they went by. We would get shot for that south of I 10 but you get use to it and it actually works alot better than people BARELY slowing down and rocking your boat more than if they would have just stayed on plane. I'm use to fishing the marsh, and in the canals I fish, people can't really slow down or they will not be able to get back on plane so all in all it works out fine for me.

Very true its nothing to have boats flying by all day long and to tell you the truth On Saturday I noticed i would catch fish as or right after a boat would pass close to me im not sure if it was just a coincidence or was it relay something to it. Anyone else ever experienced this?
But also keep in mind that i have to speed up the video and also cut out a lot of dead time so i can get a 6 hour fishing trip into a 1.5 to 2 min you tube video so what you see is normally 250 to 400 times the normal speed of things
Yes....definitely have.....it was really weird....when I was a young teenager (yes Danny, I can remember back that far) my family was fishing on a pier about 50 feet out from the bank....this was back in time when only the rich had motors and the super rich had boats also......about the biggest motor folks had was a 10 HP.....anyway, whenever a boat would come close to the pier, the fish would start biting like crazy then quit after things settled down....

I've not only seen it when other boats pass but have seen it happen in my own wake. I was fishing with brother in law one beautiful cool Feb. day and the fishing was real slow. We were fishing with jigs and shiners. My BIL got tired so he put a shiner on and let it out behind the boat. It wasn't long before he was catching some very nice slabs while I, on the front end, was hardly catching any. My only thoughts were that the trolling motor prop was stirring something up or disorienting bait fish and the slabs were sitting there picking them off. Two years ago I fished with a new partner and his method of fishing was to lay two poles, one of each side off the stern, drifting shiners while casting off the front. He caught a lot of slabs that day.

That's the truth there. Spooks me big time, I can see maybe on the main lake, but not in the tight bayous. Has made me nervous every time I go. Ann refuses to go there anymore. I've seen folks running in the early morning with a heavy fog without running lights. I made a post on here about four or five years ago about that traffic as well as folks boating the 6" fish regular. A week later, some fella got tee-boned in one of the bayous and killed him, which didn't surprise me one bit. I am no hurry, if it takes me an additional 10 - 15 minutes to get to a spot I want to fish, then so be it.
