    Default Crappie Monday on Oconee

Kowboy and I fished Lake Oconee yesterday from 8:00 until 4:30. It rained off and on all day. It was a typical Monday. We spent most of the day putting rain gear on and taking it off, breaking off and tying on jigs and trying to keep the gar from fouling up the whole works. We hooked or caught all of the usual trash fish i.e. gar, striper, catfish and a very nice hybrid who managed to get two of Kowboy's jigs and one of mine in his mouth????? By the end of the day my boat was listing badly to port due to all the wads of monofilament piled up in it. With all of that said it beats working and we had a good day of catching. The bite was not fast and furious but steady. We had to move around a bit and fished three different spots. Our final stop produced the most and biggest fish. Kowboy lost the fish of the day at the side of the boat on our first stop of the morning. Our biggest fish was 12.5 inches and the average size is getting bigger each trip. The water temperature was 76 when we started and 77 when we finished. The fish are in the woods but I guess you knew that. We did not see another fisherman after we put in.

When I got an email that you had replied to this thread I knew what was up. I wish you would catch everyone of them. Where have you been? Are you still a resident of the State of Georgia?

Doug, you still owe me $179.00 for all the Stripers I caught at Oconee this year.
