    Default Crank Baits

I have a question for you crank bait guys. My wife and I just came home from Wal-Mart. I, like I always do go to the hunting and fishing dept. I decided to look for crank baits. I found the Arkie crank baits but they only go to 2 to 6 feet. So my question is what crank baits do you use to go deeper? 10 feet? 20 feet? How deep is too deep to crank bait? Thanks for your help.

Bandit 300 what most use, can run em 3-18 ft deep depending on speed line diameter and the amount of line you let out , just google Bandit depth chart

What he said. The Arkie 350s dive about the same as a Bandit. The smaller ones are normally "pushed," or trolled off the bow, using added weight to keep them vertical.

With the smaller Arkies you can put a barrel weight and swivel ahead of the lure and a 2 to 3 foot leader and get deeper depending on the weight of the lead, how much line you let out, speed you are trolling, size line and type line. Oh yes, full moon and high tide in China.....did I leave out anything?
From what I have read most troll around .8 to 1.5 MPH with 1 being the average. If you keep everything else constant, then the weight of the jig or the design of the crankbait will determine how deep you are running.

Bandits man Bandits...Best crappie cranks on the market. If I am cranking I use a Bandit, there are other good crappie cranks out there but Bandit's take the water by storm.

I use the Arkie 220's on the front of the boat with 1-3 ounces of weight. I rarely pull them, but when I do, I use the Arkie 350 and I still have some of the Bandit 300 series. I use my outboard to pull when I do, and I can get a bait down to 17 feet.

As far a how deep is to deep, go as deep as the fish are. I tend to find fish normally in the 10-15 foot range.

If you want to see a larger line of colors and sizes of Arkie's, check out their website
