    Default Smoking turkey and boston butts for Easter Sunday


    Well I'm starting early smoking these for the Easter Sunday family get together. I have a wife, 4 daughters and their husbands, 7 grandkids 4 have spouses, and 7 great grand kids to cook for I feel well blessed. Here is some pictures:

    Well it took from 10:00am to around 8:00pm but I am ready for Easter dinner now. I used pecan wood for smoke flavor and used italian dressing and season salt on the turkey. In the water pan I used water and coca cola. I used a basic pork rub on the boston butts. I used a lot of smoke because everyone in the family loves the smoke taste. Everyone be safe and have a good Easter Sunday and remember the reason for the season this holiday. Here is pictures of the finished product:

    Reminds me its about time to drag out the smoker and do some pork butts. I really need to take the time and build my big smoker. I have a 130 gallon air tank I need to cut and weld on till it becomes a reverse flow smoker.

    Jack that 130 gallon smoker should hold at least a half a hog at one time. Be nice for family reunions and big get togethers. When you get 'er built post us some pictures. Good luck building the new smoker.
