From what I'm hearing, the further south ya go the better the bite.
I've talked to every fisherman I've gotten within earshot of and more often than not when I as how they're do'n the reply is, "Haven't got a fish" or "we've got a couple."
I'm catching some quallity fish but the numbers are WAY DOWN from what I'm used to. I've fished everything from 30' to the banks. Caught fish at darn near every level but not many. When fish are spread out like that it ain't good.
Most productive zone seems to be from 9' to 14' for me where I've been fish'n. Deeper side of that zone has yealed the better fish.
I'm not an expert but I believe that the Main Lake has more warm water than the bays and the fish know the bays are unstable right now. Sure there are a few fish in the bays and some exploring the shallower water but the main thrust of fish just haven't moved in yet. Heck... The Dogwoods haven't even got leaves on'um yet! I've bout had my belly full of this E/NE wind too!!!
TVA officially starts raising the lake on Apr. 1. Well here we are less than a week before the 1st and they are sucking her back to winter pool like Kytitelok said they would.
Only bright side I see is withe the fish running late, maybe the lake levels will be stable enough by the tome they spawn that we'll get a good one this year.
