Get you a couple of cheap Carobeiners. Tie a overhand loop knot on the end towards boat. Then about every 5 ft tie another overhand loop knot. Wrap tag end twice through first link then tie off. This lets you be able to easily adjust speed by shortening rope or letting out more. If fishing deeper waters might want to use longer rope. I have mine on 40 ft.

Do you actually drag the chain on bottom or just let it hang down? Last year at Enid, I tried 2 chains for the first time and just hanging down about 12 ft. it slowed my boat to a crawl.Yall are the experts.I'm pulling 2- 1/2" 4ft. chains. Thanks for the post blueball!

Drag on bottom. But if what you did worked that's what you wanted. You can adjust your speed by letting out rope or pulling it in based on wind speed. Some times let the chains out then use trolling motor to pull them along at the speed you want.

That 1/2 inch chain you may get away just using one on your boat with about 25 foot of rope out, thats a big chain.
