Thread: Nice day on the water and catching is fun.

Linda and I hit the water late this morning because of a misunderstanding on her part. Yesterday we decided to go fishing today after we had rested from the Toledo Bend trip. When I checked the weather late yesterday afternoon I told her that it looked like we had picked the wrong day to go as yesterday it was almost dead calm and today it called for winds of 15 or better after lunch. Linda took it as the trip was off and failed to get up early as was the plan. I just figured she had had a bad night and was still needing some sleep. Well when she finally go up at 8 AM she wanted to know why the boat was hooked up to the truck. I reminded her of the fishing trip and she said I thought it was off. So much for reading too much into what I said. Anywho, we did go and had great time and caught a very nice mess of sacs. I also caught and weighted a 3.0 pound bass which I released. Linda caught two very nice sac for where we were fishing, one weight 1lb. 2 3/4 oz. and the other 1 lb. 2 5/8 oz. We ended with 19 slabs 2 bass and 1 google eye. Hook up and fought a nice shoe pic but he ended up breaking my hook. I also hooked another heavy weight fish either a bass or another shoe pic. I saw it in the water but not clear enough to tell the difference.

We caught them on a variety of bait including shiners. This shrimp I tied last night worked well and brought a number of slabs and a bass to the boat.


Talking with others it seemed like blue and white was the favorite and the color Linda caught her 2 nice fish on. Wind kicked up pretty good by afternoon so we shut it down early but plenty happy for the Blessed day we had.
