Ed you should go rent you a climate control storage building. That would be cheaper than buying some heaters and you would get by in 1 month. I think they have one available right down the road. Speck

man its like a novel- just waiting on the next chapter....... good read!!
My wife swears I only do enough surveying to support my hunting & fishing because I'm too busy hunting & fishing !
Well believe me, its not writers block holding up the next chapter. Its weather block. I need warmer weather and instead getting the deep freeze. I did get some windshields for the boat today though. I am ready to write the finale chapter on this book and start the new one about the fishing adventures with it!CF

Checked the windshields today for fit and they look great. Had someone contact me out of the blue on these and got them for $50 a piece and one was still in plastic. These brand new are $125 a piece so I had to jump on them now.
Now I just need some weather. Got these windshields from a guy in King William VA. Wish I had had more time to get up with someone here to grab a bite to eat or something on my way back but the deal happened real fast. Made the deal Saturday night and left early Sunday to get them.CF

Boat was free. Paid $450 for the trailer which is in great shape. Will have a little more than a grand tied up in it when I'm done. Going to get it seaworthy and fishable first. Will fish out of it some and then next summer will do the work over on the gel coat. Its covered in fiberglass dust right now and does not really look as bad as the pics show but is heavily oxidized. Will probably wet sand it next summer and buff in some polish and bring it back out as much as possible.
I know what I got. Its a lot of work but when I get through, the structure of the boat will be stronger than what came from the factory, the wiring will be simpler and more efficient, I have a good motor for it, there wont be any carpet so I can blow the boat out and not have to worry about keeping carpet clean. It will never look new unless I regel coat the boat but I am not going to do that because I don't want to baby the thing that much. It is a wider bigger platform than what I had before. For a little over a grand, I cant buy a boat with the guarantee that it will be like this one will be. It will be exactly how I want it. A bigger boat that is built to put fish in the boat that will not have the high maintenance of a brand new boat. If I scratch it, I won't give a crap. I'll just get it presentable.CF

Yeah, it looks retarded right now! I'm am so ready to drop that cap back onto the hull I don't know what to do. Got my forklift tied up with it right now too. Got $900 worth of material sitting around waiting for warmer weather. The more I want it to warm up, the colder the weather gets. The windshields gave me a small victory. The stuff that has to be done once the cap is back on will go much faster. If I could have gotten the glass work done right after I got through with the prep work, I would just about have it ready for sea trials by now and maybe even make it to the Bash. Oh Well. Will get it done when this weather breaks.CF
