A misty rain during sign ups started the day. The fish were willing to participate as everyone caught plenty of fish.
As we were setting the poles it started to sprinkle and we were catch 7" fish right and left as the rain got harder. Finding bigger fish was the trouble. The rain was hanging in there and it was getting stronger with wind picking up. When the.wind picked up and the rains got its worst, bilge pump running constantly as I put larger and larger fish in the livewell. The sky and lake were as dark as it can get in daytime but the fish were on fire and we were having the time of our life. I love catching Crappie. Finally the rain and wind stopped around noon and the bite slowed as the sun tried to dry our soaked selves. I hope everyone had as good of time as we did. Fishing tournaments are fun but this one seemed special even not winning. Just seeing everyone, laughing, talking, just the fellowship most Crappie anglers show. You just can't beat it.
Thanks to all that came and hope you will join us next December for what will be am annual event.
I can't wait for Alabama Crappie Camp April 11, 2015 @ wind creek park.

Honorable mention to
Mike Combes and Robert Browning
6.420. They were new to the lake and went further than they thought and were 10 minutes late to weigh in line.

We had a blast too.... We got all our fish early from 6:30-10:00 our spots shut down an hour before the rain started. We got a little wet coming in to the boat ramp, loaded up headed to SHO Nuff BBQ to wait out the rain. After a good lunch we backed up to the weigh in location, put the boat back in he water and waited two hrs for the diehards to roll in. Really enjoyed meeting everybody and gettn to fish with Doug . Looking forward to doing it again.
Congrats Lee on a win for the season's first tourney!!
