    Default GPS Antenna

    Guys,
i just upgraded to a 998 c si bird and I'm going to run it at the console. I can't wait!!! My question is I'm looking at two places to mount the antenna and want to know what yall think and where you have yours mounted. I'm looking mounting it front of my console and the other place right behind the drivers seat. I'm trying to put in a place where it is out of the way. I had also thought about buying a bracket and mounting it behind the unit. Please let me know guys.Name: gps 2.jpg

You should mount it where it will have a clear unobstructed view of the sky/satellites for the best accuracy.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

You should mount it as close to the transducer as possible with a good view to sky.

    Lynn,
I would try to mount the antenna as close to the transducer as possible. That way you will have a more accurate waypoint location with what you are seeing/marking from the transducer. I have always been told that the farther apart the two are, the less accurate your waypoint locations may be.
    Hope this helps.
