    Default Random Slabfest '14 observations

This was our first Slabfest and we had a great time. Thanks to everyone that worked hard to put it on. We really enjoyed meeting everyone and will be back. A couple random thoughts and observations........

1, Litewire- Thanks for the "tribal knowledge" of the local pond
    2. Earl Kitchens- Thanks for the jigs
    3. To all the cooks- the food was great
    4. If you have a wife that fishes with you cause its HER thing, you're lucky.
    5. If you have a wife that fishes with you cause its YOUR thing, you're blessed.
    6. If you've never stayed in the groovy brown trailer, you're missing out. Its awesome!
    7. CUZ...... Am I the only one that thinks CUZ sounds like Paul Harvey when he talks? CUZ, you should finish your stories with....and now you know, the rest of the story. LOL- It was a pleasure to meet you!

For those of you that don't know, my wife allowed me to hire a babysitter and drag her slap across the state of Ga to Fla to attend a Slabfest for our anniversary. She had never crappie fished before in her life and she's cold natured. She froze...
It took us a little while to get our rhythm, but we finished the day with 28. We kept 20 good ones. These pics kinda tell it from beginning to end.

Great to meet you and your wife. Appreciate the chips for the hotdog dinner. Good luck.

Likewise. Maybe we can hook up and go to West point this spring. If yall ever come to Harding, bump me on here. Although its the other side of West Point from me, I consider it my local pond. Those fish can be a little unpredictable to pattern in the spring, but I try my best to keep a finger on em from about March thru May. They seem to spawn a little different than on a COE lake. If I can put you on em, I will, if not I can at least eliminate some water for ya. LOL

Enjoyed meeting you too. Thanks for all you did to pull this off.

Now, what is all this talk about a Slabfest in January. You mean I don't have to wait another year to do this. I need details, man!
I'm a sucker for a new lake to fish.

Nixon, I know a little about WEST POINT and just a little about Harding. We all need to get together and go. The first pic is Harding. The second is West Point. Name: 012613SLAB.jpg

It was great meeting you and your wife at talquin, Nixon. There will be another Slabfest at Crescent Lake in January, on the 17th I think. If you liked Talquin, you'll love Crescent in January...Hope you can make it!! By the way, fishing is "our" thing so I guess that makes me Lucky and Blessed
