    You did good Bill.
Kimber came on the market as a piece of junk many years ago. Over the years they have turned into front line quality passing some of the top brand names in the business. If I was looking for a new to me gun, it would be a Kimber. 45ACP is a lot easier to find than 22lr ammo.

Is the 45 easy enough to handle? What ammo would you buy?

If you have to use it for it's intended purpose that 45 is the one to have. If you can find it and using as protection some old military 45 ball ammo is as good as it gets for stoping someone in their tracks. Congratulations Bill.

Every Kimber has a minimum of 40 man hours of hand fit and finish before it leave the factory. That said, u need to run 500 rounds through it before it'd be ready for EDC. If ya not gonna do that, don't trust your life to it and step down to a Glock or other mass produced pistola.

That said, I got a nice charter arms 38 revolver that be jut right for your girl hands if the 45 is too much fer ya.
