Went to high rock for a little after school trip, water was 86* stained and about 3' low. We idled around found some fish and immediately started swinging. they were decent eating crappie but no hammers. Then this big blue decide he wanted to play, the six yr old hung it but immediately handed me the rod, when I lifted it in the boat there excitement actually turned to fear and didn't want to get near it. I sacrificed my boat carpet for a decent pic and was gonna wiegh it but my scales were dead, any guesses?

Nice one man! I'd let the boys guess and go with that weight.

There's a rule when there is no scale in the boat. Whoever caught it makes the call. If those yougin's say 5000 then that's what it weighed! Their story for life and they're are sticking to it!!!! This will be a life long memory for them. This fish will grow in their minds as they get older. I know a similar story from my earlier years. But this is their day!!!
I only fish the two best days of the year, when its raining and when its not!

They will never forget that day! Neither will you.
