Nice! Do you purposely bend the hook out like that or is that what the cat did to it?

That Flathead was responsible for the bent hook, just thankful that Hook stayed in there!

In a past life, I was a bass tournament fisherman and fished in a bass club in GA. We had a tournament in the late fall on Lake Jackson, near where our club was located. One of our guys hooked and landed a blue catfish on a crankbait that he brought to the club scales before he released it. It was just over 70 pounds. At that time there was a restaurant in the Atlanta area called "Catfish King". Some of the club members went to the restaurant and got hand fulls of bumper stickers that said "Catfish King". One night they went to the home of the guy who caught the huge cat and covered his Hydra Sports bass boat up with those bumper stickers. He was a good enough sport to leave them on the boat thru the next tournament.

Congrats on a great fish. Just be aware that flathead cats are wonderful on the table.
