They do that out at Indian Creek. Can't leave them in the boat! Get ready to go in the morning and they are eaten or running free from the overturned cricket cage.

The bluebirds were going after Randy's crickets this morning before he left. They ate about half of them. LOL
Checking out the selection.
Deciding what to do.
In he goes.
Picking the biggest and best
Out he comes

Story of my life fellas dealing with the crickets this time of year. Ya'll have heard this before from me. I will buy a tube full, and maybe get a dozen or two on a hook eventually.

Such a pretty little bird, I wouldn't mind feeding him a few...but he'd have to let me fish with some too!
that's funny.....reminds me of a trip many years ago.....we paddled our flat bottom back to the landing for a soda pop and pulled it up on the bank a little leaving our tackle and poles in the boat....when we came back out, there was a chicken sitting in the boat with our fishing pole line coming out of its mouth....it had swallowed the cricket on the hook deep....nothing to do but cut the line.....the chickens "craw" will digest anything.....
The "King" is coming
This could be the Day....

Had to get my Texas BBQ fix while here:
All crappie today were small, roughly 6 - 8 inches - pitched them back. The white bass are everywhere, catching them regular. Pitch them back as well, don't care for them. Decided to pick on the bream. You can easily fill the cooler with these:
I have several in the live well right now. Many are larger. Pitched back probably 10 for every one I kept. I'll take a picture of them all once I pull them out. Sunset here at Toledo Bend:
Life is good.
