Hear!!! Hear!!! Good Job Matt. You know we like a good YoYo debate every now and then. I sure don't want to see my friends on here who who enjoy it and do it right lose the privilege of doing it. Maybe we will find the answer some where.

I agree with Russ, and with what CMJ said awhile ago on this post. As much as I hate to see fish hanging and dying, and as much as it ticks me off for folks to put'em out and leave them all year, it may be like throwing the baby out with the bath water to outlaw them altogether. Therefore, I go back to my original position.......it's an enforcement problem, and we need to beef up our enforcement ranks, at least periodically. Have an enforcement blitz often, at unannounced times and hit the violators in the pocketbook hard, really hard. And have enforcement act on reported violations called in by responsible anglers. I don't call because nothing will be done about it. But if enforcement would act on that info, we could possibly fix this problem pretty quickly. Feel free to chime in here if you agree with that approach. I'm done.

What I been saying it enforcement not the yo yo device.
I was just thinking the other night that Matt has to be a pretty good guy to work all day then answer all the different questions at night. Good job Matt and keep up the good work.
Just took the survey myself, hope they get the info they need and act on it. I voted against the statewide 30 limit and wouldn't even have a problem with a 15/day limit to maybe increase fish numbers. I stated we have lakes like Conway and Nimrod where crappie are darn near over populated and others of us struggle to catch crappie on lakes close to us???? I posed this question in hopes they can spread the numbers around to those of us who don't have as many crappie in our home waters. I also voted for a statewide 10" limit on crappie, afterall, a crappie 10" or under has very little meat on it to begin with. As for the stocking of catfish....well those 2 lakes I mentioned, Conway and Nimrod seem to have good numbers of cats, maybe cause they have high numbers of crappie for them to feed on so if we stock the crappie they cats will thrive also, seems simple. I got on here to post the link myself after a buddy told me about it. I was glad to see the link on here already.
Oh, and lest I forget I hammered them on the stocking of the God awful trout's and strippers and forgetting about what most of us Arkansas fisherman really wanna see more of. I also asked why we don't see better fish cleaning stations at some lakes. I know the one at Blue Mountain, is a really good one with bone grinders, covered in case of rain, plenty of room, valves to turn water on, plenty of available power.....Why can't we get least one of those on all lakes??? Heck I'd help build the darn thing even. I'd be willing to donate $ to get one and I bet I can get others to donate $ too.
With the lack of officers to enforce the regs, I think we should police ourselves. Most people using a lake on a regular basis are 100% legal as they should be. With those people being the overwhelming majority, it should be easy to police Conway or any other body of water. We all have phones to report violators, or just cut the illegal (non marked lines). The legal guys should have the right to fish as they danged well please!!!!!!
Maybe the game and fish should recruit local fishermen as deputy's that TRUELY care about their home lakes to help police the lakes on a pro bono deal. I think the real sportsmen and women would be happy to help clean up the violators for Free!!!!! Kinda like a Neighborhood Watch group that has the authority to remove illegal devices etc.
