Welcome Aboard

I've been lurking for a while now, I guess it's time I introduced myself. My Dad and I own Off Shore Tackle Co, a small family company as well as a site sponsor. I grew up fishing the big water of the Great Lakes mainly for Trout, Salmon, and Walleye. After seeing the impact our planer boards had in winning last year's Crappie Masters championship, we thought it was a great time to get into crappie fishing.
I just fished my first crappie tournament with my Dad, the Crappie Masters at the Lake of the Ozarks, and I'm hooked! I actually caught my first crappie the Wednesday before the tournament pre-fishing. While I have extensive experience trolling, especially with planer boards, I am exited to learn all the other techniques from spider rigging to shooting docks.
Welcome from Mississippi
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Welcome to the Crappie.com family Nick
I won a bunch of Off Shore Tackle gear in Crappie.coms last DIY contest. It has been a long winter and I'm really looking forward to putting the planer boards to good use in my kayak.
Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines![]()

Awesome! Let us know how they work out. We love hearing from the kayak fisherman, it looks like a lot of fun! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. There are also some good videos on our YouTube site: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS3...PrmhG-nRh4HnQw
Thanks! Definitely looks like a great bunch of people here! We are going to try to get to the Spring Camp, hopefully we can make it. I cant wait to start chasing crappie around in Michigan. We have done a lot of Walleye fishing in some of the inland lakes in Mich, but are just now looking to see what the best ones are for Crappie. We'd really like to find one where we can do some open water fishing and be able to do some filming without having to drive so far. We have a couple tips about crappie in Saginaw Bay too, so we will have to check that out.
I do mostly spider rigging, but some tight lining and jigging. I would love to learn how to longline and try out planer boards too. I hope you can make it up to the spring camp on Hardy.
My wife and I are heading over to Hudson Lake SRA for a long weekend early next month. I've fished it a couple of times, and we held our first event (if you want to call it that) there. It's loaded with crappie, and according to some pics posted by the DNR, there are some 3+ lbs. fish in there.
