I see no one replied and I understand why. So many people out to get other people to do the work and then take their spots. It is a shame it has reached this point. This is a great site for fisherman to help fisherman. But so many leaches now days. I seldom give specific spots but general information to others when asked, and then by pm. And that is what I ask for in return. But Iwill not let this discourage me. I will continue to help anyone Who is coming to the lakes I fish by sending general information and ocassional specifics to the people I feel are tru fisherman just fishing a new lake. But I will continue to send it by pm. Good luck and may your live wells be full.

HBH, a lot of info is exchanged here on PM. You might consider asking for the PM relies in your original posts. I would be glad to help but have never laid eyes on Barren.

I'd send a PM to BadBrad for his input on Barren. I believe that's his home lake & his "turf" (now that he's a CO ).

HBH, I fished Barren Tuesday afternoon, water temps were 57-59 degrees and water is being held currently at 537' 9' above winter pool. Should be rising with all the rain last night and more forecast for tonight. The fish are beginning to migrate back into the creeks, but with that, so are all the boats. You'll probably wade through a lot if short fish for each keeper. I spider rigged jigs tipped with minnows and caught fish in depths 9' to 15' of water. (I fished deeper just to try water that the armada of other boats hadn't worn out). Orange chartreuse is always a good color this time of year. Walnut Creek and Skaggs would be good bets. Also, don't overlook lay downs along the bluff walls, they get hammered with pressure, but are productive at times. Good luck to you.

Look for the heard, and then ignore them. Like Brad I fish there a lot, just don't post much any more. Sorry but I just saw your post. The water temps are so close to the fish moving in to spawn that I would look for 12' of water early in the day and as the afternoon wears on move up to shallower water. Hope this helps.

Just returned from Barren, left cpl days early as the Wednesday nite rain and Thursday wind, and lack of minnows as all the bait stores ran out. Truck was to deliver again on Friday. We fished Peter Creek on Monday afternoon and Tuesday with decent # and size of fish, but lots of competition there. Tried Walnut creek on Wednesday with better #s and size of fish there and not so many boats. Best fish were in the am. Most caught on minnows. Fish were scattered, some in 3' and others in 10'.
