Default Goin to Ky Lake early next week

Im heading down to KY lake to do some crappie fishing in the cold weather. Havent fished this early in the year down there but Im confident we should catch a few if the weather isn't to bad. I usually do pretty well in early march. Plan to fish deep and off drop offs. Wish me luck I got the cabin fever and cant take it anymore!

We'll we went down to the lake and fished Monday the weather was great no wind. However, we didn't catch one crappie. We caught around 5 yellow bass but no crappie. I tried everything fished from 5-25 feet of water jigs and minnows. We were bottom bouncing fished a lot of deep brush spider rigged and one pole jigging. There were about 5 other boats out all in deep water doing the same thing and they weren't catching either. Nice to get out on the water anyway. But, not heading back down to the lake until the water temp hits 50. That was my first crappie fishing trip in the middle of winter.

Naw... Don't wait till then. Try it again about mid Feb. Water temps should be in the low to mid 40's. Spider rig the bays in about 10' to 14'. They'll be there.
