It's a fun event and the opportunity to be a much better fisherman. I've learned a lot from some of the best crappie fishermen in NC and made a number of new friends as well. I've never won a tournament or even come close; in fact, I have even been skunked some times, but I enjoy spending a day on the lake and hanging out with a great bunch of folks. Here are a few pictures from last year.

Mr. Rod King Has a Big Heart to Consistently Hold these tournaments YEAR after YEAR... I Know He puts in alot of his Time Setting up these Events Unconditionally...The Comrodery is second to none! ..I always try to make it to as many as I can...One of the most rewarding things that happened just last season was to hear about the News of Rod catchin his personal best Crappie of well over 4 LBS....Thats the Biggest Crappie I've ever seen & to know the person who caught it ,made it really COOL.......The pictures were Awesome & Maybe we'll be blessed with seein at least a 3 LBER at the SCALES this year at one of these Events.....If you've never fished in one of these tournaments..YOU NEED TO make the effort,as you will never meet a better bunch of guys to share your fishin day with....Hope to see you ALL on the lake !

There are guys that from time to time need a partner. One of our guys, Dwight, was fishing alone last February and accidentally slipped and fell into the water. Thank goodness he had a remote control trolling motor that was able to get himself to shallow water and then he got help from land. He ended up going to the hospital as his body temperature had dropped quite a bit. He was fine after he got his body warmed up, but it makes you think twice about fishing alone on those cold February and early March days.
